Snack Attack

While it would great if we could have fresh fruit and veggies as snacks for our kids (our ourselves) all the time, it is not always convenient.  When throwing things in the diaper bag, pool bag or purse, I have found some quick gluten-free prepackaged snacks that are pretty good.

First, Larabar mini bars.  Larabars are great, but sometimes they are too much for just kids or just a quick snack.  These mini versions come in a variety pack.  I purchased them at the Kroger on Monroe Street.

Second, Annie’s Bunny Fruit Snacks.  These are less sticky and therefore less likely to pull out a filling, or stay in your tooth for several hours.  They now make several varieties.  I have found these at Target and at Kroger.  They taste more like fruit than sugar, especially compared to some other fruit snacks.  Plus, the bunnies are cute.

Finally, French Meadow Bakery Fudge brownies.  These are individually wrapped brownies.  I have had their frozen brownies, and they were pretty tasty.  These were not bad for pre-wrapped brownies.  The best part is your child is not the only one that never gets little Debbie like snack. These were purchased at the Kroger on King in Sylvania.

So load up.  Summer is almost here.  The pool is calling.

Wishing you great food and happy tummies,

K
