Ok, here is the deal: I do not diet. I did not go gluten-free to lose weight. So, when you read most of my posts, do not look for them to add to your weight loss plan. I eat relatively healthy, but I splurge when the calories mean delicious food. I do specifically avoid eating and drinking anything with diet in the title. Diet pop makes me pucker thinking about it.
That being said, I recognize that some of you might be interested in some gluten-free weight loss options. One of this blog’s followers asked me to do a write up on Shakeology. However, I will not put anything on the blog that I have not personally tried. So, for you, I tried my first diet shake.
It was not bad, given my extreme distaste for most anything called diet, and I think that with some of the added ingredients that are suggested it would be pretty good (I am thinking chocolate shake with added peanut butter). I used the chocolate shake packet, and blended it with ice and almond milk (I avoid cow’s milk except when baking).
There was no after taste, and it is low on the allergy risk scale for those with multiple allergies. This is especially true since you can add your liquid of choice.
Shakeology is made with non-gluten flours, various roots, fruits and grass juices. It also has a pre and probiotic/digestive blend.
For those interested in the diet facts:
Calories: 130-160
Sugar: 6-9g
Protein: 16-17g

The only thing I received for writing this review were two sample packets of Shakeology.
Happy dieting for those who do.
Wishing you great food and happy tummies,
K
