Now on to the gluten-free stuff. . .
I discovered several gluten-free products over the holidays. Crunch Master crackers now come in a variety pack (available at Costco). The variety has some fantastic crackers. They went faster with my gluten-eating friends than the gluten-filled crackers.
As a member of a very Polish family, kielbasa is served at almost every holiday function. And for nearly two years, I have not eaten it, being afraid of what gluten may be hidden in the mix. But, my aunt gave me a wonderful Christmas gift: a call to Kilgus (located on Laskey near Secor). Kilgus makes all of their kielbasa gluten-free!
Another gluten-free discovery made over the holidays: Kroger’s prepackaged beef lunch meat is gluten-free. I realize this sounds rather boring. But, it is a key ingredient in my grandmother’s beef role ups. A family favorite that involves beef lunch meat, cream cheese, green onions and garlic powder. I have not had them in two years, so after making the gluten-free discovery, I had more than my fair share.
Friends and family were wonderful about trying to have gluten-free food. My mom does wonders with making her chocolate velvet cheese cake gluten-free. One friend, who was in charge of dessert went to Organic Bliss and got a big box filled with wonderful gluten-free baked goods for everyone. Awesome!! In that box, I found a peanut butter chocolate brownie. I am not sure how I had not made that discovery sooner. It was so good!!!!!!
I hope everyone had wonderful gluten-free meals over the holidays!
Wishing you great food and happy tummies,
K
Those peanut butter brownies are to die for, they need to have them more often!
