Hot Dogs have their own month?

by | Jul 26, 2012 | Products

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Applegate to try their Super Natural Hot Dogs. Apparently July is National Hot Dog Month, who knew?

The Super Natural Hot Dogs are gluten and casein-free, along with being all natural. However, none of that would matter if they tasted terrible. I am all for eating natural and healthy foods, but I refuse to sacrifice taste. If it is “natural” but tastes like straw, I will pass.

Fortunately there is no compromise on taste with these hot dogs. They are very good. Beefy and juicy are the best descriptors for these hot dogs, which is exactly what I want in a hot dog. So, the fact that they are natural and from humanely raised cows is gravy to me.

It was also impressive that I actually recognized every ingredient listed on the package like: Beef, Paprika and Celery Powder.

So, if you like hot dogs, but the ingredient list on most brands makes you a bit nervous, these are the hot dogs for you. No sacrifice on taste, and natural, recognizable ingredients.

You can pick up your own package at Kroger.  Applegate has just started selling these hot dogs in the Toledo Area.

Wishing you great food and happy tummies,

K

Note: Applegate provided me with free hot dogs to sample.  They did not pay me to review the product.
