Not Short on Taste

by | Nov 13, 2013 | Restaurants

As a mother of a small child, carryout has become a must.  Early bedtimes and late work schedules mean that sometimes cooking is not an option, and takeout is a lot less cumbersome than sitting down in a restaurant. This led me to explore some restaurants in my neck of the woods.  I had two major criteria in my quest: 1) gluten-free menu options 2) take-out offered.

Shorty's BBQ- Gluten Free

I was very excited to discover that Shorty’s has numerous gluten-free options.  Their meets and sauces are all GF.  The majority of their sides are also gf (avoid the mac and cheese and corn bread).  I am a BBQ fan, and like that I have a lot of options to choose from.  With their takeout options, they are officially in our takeout rotation!  The food is tasty!

I am not sure what measures they take to avoid cross contamination, but I felt good about the fact that so few of their menu items contain gluten.

The Mancy’s group needs credit for not only having several great restaurants in the area, but also making sure that the restaurants can accommodate those of us with food allergies.

Wishing you great food and happy tummies,

K
