FeaturedOrganic Bliss Gluten Free Bakery and Deli

Rating:

Location: 3723 King Road, Sylvania, OH 43617

Website: http://www.organicblissmarket.com/
My Take: This is one of my favorite places. I walked into the bakery about a week after I went gluten-free. I almost cried when I found out everything in their bakery case was gluten-free. It was a beautiful site. Their gluten-free pies and cakes are fantastic and their California Turkey sandwich is one of my favorites.

What makes them really stand out are their specialty orders. My husband asked if they made red velvet cupcakes (one of my favorite things before my gluten-free days). They went to the bakery where I used to purchase the not gluten-free cupcakes, purchased some, and came up with a gluten free version that was even better than the original. That is customer service! They even started occasionally offering it as one of the cupcakes in their case.

Rating:
Location: 1440 Secore Rd. Suite E, Toledo, OH 43607

bd’s Mongolian Grill

Rating:
Location: Franklin Park Mall – 5001 Monroe St., Toledo, OH 43623
Website: http://www.gomongo.com/
My Take: This restaurant allows you to pick all of your own foods and sauces. Then, they grill it up for you. The sauces are all clearly labeled as to whether or not they are gluten-free. They clean the grill and use blockers to prevent cross contamination. However, if you would rather, they will cook it on the sterile grill in the back.

Deepam

Rating:
Location: 7406 West Central Ave. Toledo, OH 43617
My Take:If you can live without the Naan (bread) you have a lot of great choices. If you like spicy flavorful food, this Indian deli and market is a great place to go. The food is very fresh, and there are also plenty of vegetarian options.

City Barbeque

Rating:
Location: 7402 West Central Avenue Toledo, OH 43617

My Take: Their standard barbeque sauces are gluten-free as is all of their meat. Several sides, including smashed potatoes and baked beans are favorites of mine.

Aladdin’s Eatery

Rating:
Location: 4038 Talmadge Road, Toledo, OH 43623
Website: http://www.aladdinseatery.com/

Website: http://www.claddaghirishpubs.com/

Taruman

Rating:
Location: 7430 W Central Ave # D, Toledo, OH 43617

Biaggi’s

Rating:
Location: 1320 Levis Commons Blvd., Perrysburg, OH 43551
Website: http://www.biaggis.com/
My Take: While this is a chain restaurant, you would not know by the feel of it. This location perfected the chain’s gluten free options. Their Italian cuisine gluten-free menu is extensive and you do not feel like you are limited. The gluten free bread is delicious, and I could make an entire meal out of only this.

LaScola

Rating:
Location: 5375 Airport Highway, Toledo, OH 43615
Website: http://www.lascolaitaliangrill.com/
My Take: While their gluten-free menu is somewhat more limited, the items on the menu are worth checking out this restaurant. It is Italian food done right, but my favorite menu item is not a traditional Italian food . . . crab cakes. Delicious.

PF Chang’s

Rating:
Location: Fallen Timbers – 2300 Village Dr. West Bldg. #140, Maumee, OH 43537
Website: http://www.pfchangs.com/
My Take: They are so used to serving gluten-free items, that the gluten-free menu is actually located on the back of their regular menu. The gluten free entrées even come on special plates, so you know that you are getting a specially prepared dish. You also get a separate set of gluten free sauces. Their chocolate dome flourless cake is fantastic!

Rating:
Location: 3405 Briarfield Blvd., Maumee, OH 43537

Don Pablo’s

Rating:
Location: 6040 Knight’s Inn Place, Maumee, OH 43537

Mancy’s Steak House

Rating:

Website: http://asoft4249.accrisoft.com/mancys/mancys-steakhouse/mancy-s-steakhouse/

Real Seafood Company

Rating:
Location: The Docks, 22 Main Street, Toledo, OH 43605
Website: http://www.realseafoodcorestaurant.com/pages_new/Toledo/home.html
My Take: Their actual gluten free menu leaves something to be desired because they have a weekly menu. Their gluten-free menu is actually a menu from several months prior, with (gf) marked next to the menu items. However, what their menu lacks, it is more than made up for by their managers and kitchen staff. Simply ask about what you want to order, and the staff will tell you what will work and what will not, and they will make sure that you get a great gluten-free meal.

Multiple Toledo Area Locations

Outback Steakhouse

Rating:
Location: Multiple Locations
Website: http://outback.com/index.aspx
My Take: My husband and I are such frequent customers of the curbside takeaway that the staff knows our car. The servers seem to be well training on the gluten-free menu.

Chipotle

Rating:
Location: Multiple Locations
Website: http://www.chipotle.com/
My Take: One of the few quick food places that is gluten-free friendly. There burrito bowl and hard tacos are gluten-free, as is everything that you can put into them. If you are very sensitive to gluten, ask the crew to change their gloves before they prepare your food.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Rating:
Location: Multiple Locations
Website: www.buffalowildwings.com
My Take: All of the rubs, and all but two of the sauces are gluten-free. Your server should be able to help you. They have allergy charts readily available.

Red Robin

Rating:
Location: Multiple
Website: http://www.redrobin.com /
My Take: They now have buns, that make a burger worth while. They are not required to have dedicated fryers, so check before order the fries to see if the location does have dedicated fryers. This is a kid friendly restaurant, so a great place to take your child if they have allergies.

The Original Gino’s Pizza

Rating:
Location: Multiple
Website: https://www.originalginos.com /
My Take: They serve a very thin crust gluten-free pizza. It requires a fork otherwise it falls apart in your hands. It is a great, get in any part of town option.
